Our History
Building Design Studio was founded around 60 years ago and for the last 20 years has operated as a quasi-business unit within Solihull Council. Originally, our Architects were set up on the fifth floor of the Council House, residing amongst a sea of drawing boards. These days our projects are designed in 3D and the boards are many years departed. What remains however, is the kind and collaborative ethos and strong sense of fun. We love what we do and feel very proud of our history. Not many Councils have their own in-house Architectural Team; our plan is to remain, prosper and serve the residents our borough (and beyond) for many years to come.
